Hi! I'm George.
My name is George Cummings. I have been in the IT industry for over 25 years as administrator, coder, student, and instructor.My career has been mostly as system and network administrator with some side jobs as instructor – not necessarily in IT. Currently I’m coding in Python while necessity leads me to experiment in Go, playing with my Kubernetes lab, documenting in Markdown, and working with infrastructure-as-code. I live in Quebec, Canada.
My primary tools are Linux (and now Linux-based containers), Visual Studio Code, and vi. While splitting my time between the Eastern Townships and Montreal, I work for SAP Canada in their Global Cloud Services unit.
In 2022, I completed my Master of Management of Artificial Intelligence from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Previously, I obtained a BA in Computer Science from York University in Toronto way back in 1998.
