Colours

Term Nihonji Description
aka, n. The colour red.
ao, n. The colour blue.
chairo, n. 茶色 The colour brown. Pronounced “cha-iro.” Literally, “tea colour.”
daidai, n. Bitter orange (fruit). Only relevant to karate because of its colour.
daidaiiro, adj. 橙色 The colour orange. May be substituted with oranju オランジュ.
iro, n. Colour.
ki-iro, n. 黄色 The colour yellow.
kuro, n. The colour black.
midori The colour green.
shiro, n. White.
