Colours

Term	Nihonji	Description
aka, n.	赤	The colour red.
ao, n.	青	The colour blue.
chairo, n.	茶色	The colour brown. Pronounced “cha-iro.” Literally, “tea colour.”
daidai, n.	橙	Bitter orange (fruit). Only relevant to karate because of its colour.
daidaiiro, adj.	橙色	The colour orange. May be substituted with oranju オランジュ.
iro, n.	色	Colour.
ki-iro, n.	黄色	The colour yellow.
kuro, n.	黒	The colour black.
midori	緑	The colour green.
shiro, n.	白	White.
